“I Don’t Wish To Be CEO Again, But I Wouldn’t Mind A Pardon From Trump” – Former Binance CEO

Former Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao has expressed that he no longer desires to take on the role of CEO at Binance. However, he acknowledged that he would not turn down a potential pardon from former President Donald Trump.

On the 2nd of December, CZ responded to an X post by John Lilic, Executive Director of the Telos Foundation, who had suggested that Trump consider granting a pardon to CZ in light of his past legal issues, which resulted in a four-month prison sentence.

In his post, Lilic proposed that such a pardon would allow CZ to return as Binance’s CEO and help the cryptocurrency industry reach its full potential, referring to CZ as a victim of “lawfare.” CZ responded, stating that he had no interest in resuming his former position but was open to receiving a pardon.

“I don’t wish to be CEO again. But I definitely wouldn’t mind a pardon,” CZ replied.

The interaction garnered significant support from the community, with many users expressing their backing for CZ and calling for his release with phrases like “Free CZ.” Some supporters argued that CZ could still contribute greatly to the crypto industry, whether by returning to Binance or playing a significant role in government efforts to advance cryptocurrency adoption.

In a public interview after his prison release, CZ had further elaborated on his position and future plans.
